Self taping-
Every actor, at some point in their career, has received a self tape audition request. Self taping is the modern go to when casting any project, sometimes even theatre and dance!
This is why it is so important for every actor to know how to tape them selves, which equipment they need and how to use it, and have basic technology / video editing skills. Without this knowledge, self tape auditions can be frustrating and not up to par with industry standards.
Over my career, I have filmed hundreds of self tape auditions for myself and for other actors in the industry, many of which booked the gig! Now I want to pass on that knowledge and skill to other actors, every one from budding actors to seasoned pros can benefit from the self tape services I provide. See descriptions below, if there is something else you need help with feel free to message me and if I can’t help I probably know someone who can!
Self tape reader-
When you receive a set of sides that has more than one speaking character you will need a reader. I have provided a few different options with hourly prices below.
Option 1: Virtual Self tape reader. I will call in via phone or video call and read for the other characters in the scene. (best option for actors that are not located in the NYC area). $15 Per hour
Option 2: In person self tape reader. I will come to your home or studio space and read for the other characters in the scene. (Best option for actors with their own gear) $20 per hour
Option 3: In person + gear. I will come to your home or studio space, bring my self tape gear (standing backdrop with blue and grey, umbrella lights, and a cellphone tripod) and read for the other characters in the scene. (best option for new actors or traveling actors) $20 per hour+ $20 kit fee
Option 4: Studio space + gear+ in person. I will find an appropriate studio space for us and book it, bring my self tape gear (standing backdrop with blue and grey), umbrella lights, and a cellphone tripod and I will read for the other characters in the scene. (Best option for actors that do not have a space they can tape in) $21 per hour + $20 kit fee

If you have never received a self tape request and want to get ahead of the game or you have and want to fine tune the process, this is the class for you.
This is NOT an acting class. This class teaches you the fundamentals of self taping including which gear you need, framing yourself, working with a reader, and basic editing for your final tape.

You will also receive a scene to shoot so I can give you feedback (again, NOT for your acting, just feedback on how you shoot the scene), this is totally optional but highly recommended. And you will receive a curated list of gear options that include affordable versions and expensive ones, and a list of coaches I have worked with that I think are amazing at what they do (zero sponsors here just amazing talented people)

This class can be done one on one coaching style or in a group setting. If you have a group of friends that all want to learn how to self tape I will make it a package deal and give a discounted group price. For this class we will use your space, this is important so you can see how the gear works in the space you have available. This is the same case for the group package, however, If your space can not accommodate your group I can find accommodations at an additional price.
In this in person self tape class, you will learn-

Background acting, Getting the job- $5
Many people have opinions about background actors and the job. “Is it good for my career?”, “background actors don’t matter”, “background work isn’t acting”, “If your ever do a background acting job you’ll never book a principle role”.
